A healthy lifestyle is not focused only on the choice of the right food and being conscious of the nutrients found in each dish. Healthy life also includes managing weight suitably, handling stress positively, and opting for activities that promote total wellbeing.

Guiding children to give value to their well-being isn’t hard. Parents must be able to explain to their youngsters what are the healthy choices and how these choices affect their body and mind; this can be done by being patient with the kids in teaching what the healthy options are. Also, it is prudent for the parents to practice what they preach for the kids to see from their parents that the latter are also living a healthy lifestyle. Below are some of the best healthy living practices.

Introduce Healthy Food Options

From the day they learn to appreciate food, it is best to give children a sample of fruits and vegetables from time to time. That way as they grow old, they will be used to eating even those green leafy vegetables.  If for some reasons they do not like the taste of a bitter gourd, for instance, try to include it in other dishes. Likewise, even how picky they can be, still offer them vegetables. It is always best than not offering anything at all.

Sometimes, kids also need explanation. They are curious individuals, and they cannot understand everything through observation. It helps when parents explain to their youngsters the importance of eating healthy food. Dismiss the weight or height. Focus more on the explanation that with healthy food, they will be strong. Make them believe that food is the fuel their body needs to run, think, and move more. Children are often enticed by the idea of healthy and fast so leverage on those.

Set Limited Viewing Time

Much has been said that the effects of the excessive internet, television, and online games to kids are not very good. Children exposed to too much television programs may not only result in a higher risk of obesity but may most likely adopt aggressive behavior. Some cartoons, for instance, showing one hitting the other, may influence the tots and do the same to their playmates.

It is best, too, to choose the appropriate television shows for the kids and if possible, be by their side as they watch. There might be some concerns a parent or guardian needs to address immediately. Another tactic parent may do to limit the screen time of their children is to encourage them to sports, hobbies, and other activities that promote learning and fun at the same time. It wouldn’t hurt, too, if parents find time to play with their kids. They may spend at least a few hours playing doll, truck or train. They can read together or even dance to the latest dance craze in town.

The parents are the children’s first models. Most kids mirror what their elders do. They are fascinated with what they eat, decide, and do.

It would be heartwarming that even at a tender age, parents involve their kids in health-conscious decisions and actions. In doing the grocery, for instance, the elders may explain to their youngsters the benefits of the vegetables and fruits.  Let them pick the fruits and vegetables themselves and put them inside the cart. Then once at home, cook some of these vegetables. The kids’ enthusiasm would surely grow because it was them who hand-picked those food.

Another healthy living practice elders must show to their youngsters is the proper use of the washroom. Orient to the little ones that they need to wash their hands before and after using the toilet. They need to understand that hand-washing is very crucial in preventing the spread of germs, especially after coming from the bathroom.

It is also prudent that they use the Brondell Swash 1400 after each pee or poop. It is essential for the kids to know that a bidet provides water which will remove any residue left on their bottom. After each use, let them experience that feeling of freshness and cleanliness.
