At some point in life, we will all be dissatisfied with our bodies. Trust me, even the most glamorous men and women in the world look in the mirror and see flaws. What is important when you see a flaw you want to correct is not to get upset. A negative mental attitude can be devastating to your self-esteem. No, you need figure out how to rectify the problem. Do you want to lose weight? Do you want to tone up? Do you just want to lead a healthier lifestyle? All of these questions can be solved with one answer: exercise.
If you are a beginner to the workout scene, here a few professional tips to get you started. Even if you somewhat of a workout buff, they are well worth a look.
When we workout, surprisingly, only twenty percent of our movements have an effect on the overall goal. That means a whopping eighty percent of movement during exercise is pointless. It is called Pareto’s Principle, and it puts into perspective how efficient you need to be when you work out. Obviously, you need to maximise the twenty percent to get the most from your workout plan. So, try and expose compound movements, movements that use more than one muscle group. Metaphorically speaking, you are killing two birds with one stone.
Regardless of how much you work out, you need a solid foundation to sustain your effort. In layman’s terms, there is no point going to the gym five times a day if you are going to eat crap. Your diet can easily negate all of your hard work, so create a healthy eating program as well as work out regime. Remember that food is what fuels exercise. So, the right fuel will maximise your body’s efficiency. The easiest diet to stick to is whole, organic foods that offer a balance of carbs, protein, fat and other supplements.
Start Off Slowly
Starting slowly is not what we have in mind when we exercise. In our minds, we want to make up as much lost time as possible. However, that is not good for your mental state. Workout for beginners is as much mental as it is physical; if you can’t keep to your regime, you’ll never achieve your goals. By starting slowly and working your way forward, you will reduce the risk of becoming disillusioned with your program.
Create A Plan
To help with relieving the stress of exercising, create a plan. Again, you want to start off slowly and aim small. The plan might be to go to the gym three or four times a week for the first couple of weeks and then increase it afterwards. It seems insignificant, but it gets you into a routine.
Mix It Up
Once you begin to get used to working out, try a mixture of different exercises. Obviously, cardio is good for training your fitness and losing weight. But, lifting weights is also good for weight loss too. By mixing up your program, you can maximise the results and relieve boredom at the same time.
