Beef Stew in a slow-cooker ready to serve.

As we all know, one of the biggest keys to maintaining a healthy figure throughout the years is a simple, and stable diet.  There are many options for this, and many fads which come and go.  One of my favorite recommendations for developing a stable diet is to purchase a slow cooker and to learn a variety of meals to make in this!  By working with your slow cooker, you will easily find yourself saving time and money; along with creating healthy habits for living!

Using a slow cooker is huge benefit for most people because cooking takes a long time, and our busy lives rarely make time for an hour of meal preparation per day.  By finding or creating recipes that utilize a crockpot or a slow cooker, you can easily cook for multiple days at a time, without sacrificing any benefits.

One of my own personal favorite uses is to make a hearty and healthy soup, which will last me multiple days at a time.  This soup can be made of simply chicken, potatoes, onions, carrots, broccoli and quinoa; to pack nutrients in to your body, each day!

If you want to try an even more unique “soup,” borscht is an excellent recommendation! If you are of Russian or Ukrainian descent, you surely know about this!  Borscht is a traditional Ukrainian dish, which is generally made to feed the whole family!  Borscht has many unique benefits, most notably from the large number of beets added!  Beets are an amazing vegetable, with an incredible number of vitamins and nutrients.   If you know anything about beets themselves, you know that they are excellent for your blood.

Borscht can include as many as 30 different ingredients, all with other amazing health benefits!  Who knew you could pack so much nutrition in to one type of soup?

Learning how to cook borscht or any other nutrient packed soup in your slow cooker will effectively save you time and money, while also providing a healthy meal for you and your family.  There are surely thousands of different recipes that you can easily find on the internet for using your slow cooker, or you can have fun and create your own!

To me, the key is finding the correct correlation of both taste, and nutrition.   Becoming healthy will be far more different if you are sacrificing flavor for every meal you eat.  If you balance out nutrition, with finding tasty foods; you will have far more success in the long run! Combining your vegetables together with the right spices and type of meat makes the doleful duty of eating healthy meals every day much more convenient, and much more pleasant.

If you don’t already own one, I highly suggest that you head to the store and find a slow cooker for yourself!  This one simple tool will easily upgrade your ability to make homemade healthy meals for you and your family, while also ensuring that you are not sacrificing taste or leaving yourself feeling unsatisfied!
