It makes sense to have a family member or friend transport you to the doctor’s surgery and back. That way you won’t have to worry about your leg getting hit by accident on the bus, for instance.

While you’re waiting for the leg to get better, it’s important to keep both it and yourself active. Your physiotherapist should have given you some advice on what you can do at home.

For instance, you can use a shower chair for bathing, and a walking stick to support you when you’re on your feet.

 

Make sure you spend some time away from home

 

For the most part, you’ll need to relax at home to give your leg the best chance of recovery. Still, that doesn’t mean you should suffer from cabin fever!

 

Have a family member or friend take you out on excursions every now and then. It’s good to get out of the house, both for your mind and your body. Just because you have a leg injury doesn’t mean you have to stay trapped indoors!

 

Don’t be afraid to ask for help

 

Last, but not least, it’s important to know that there are people out there willing to help you. Don’t be afraid to ask for that help if you need it.
