Our health is so important. But no matter what we do, how well we take care of ourselves, we can be prone to suffer from things that just go unnoticed. Health problems can occur at any time of our lives. We have a perception that as we get older, that’s when things can hit. The reality is that we can suffer from some of the most severe health issues no matter what our age. What I thought I should do is explore what some of those are, advise on how they may be treated. Maybe offer advice on how to avoid it in the first place.
Cancer is one of those things that we just don’t know we have. Unless we find a lump or head to the doctors with another symptom, then it can be too late. There are many different cancers around, with symptoms to look out for, but there are also things like Sarcoma tumours that go unnoticed. This is due to them appearing in the muscle or fatty parts of your body. Making them harder to identify. While it is rare, it can be treated with sarcoma treatment. Cancer is one of those things that is getting researched into all the time, but for now just be mindful of symptoms and don’t ignore them.
Sometimes you don’t realise that a down day is depression. You may wonder why you feel so low or negative, but depression is one of the biggest causes of low mood. Of course, there is more to it than that. Mental health is one of the things that people are less likely to show attention to. But if you are having more down days than good and are struggling to function in daily life, you may need to seek health. Depression can be treated in a number of ways that are specific to the individual. You could consider cognitive behavioural therapy, antidepressants or counseling. All of which will help you get through the dark period and out the other side.
Anxiety is another thing that people avoid seeking help with. But this can have an adverse affect on your life. You may be anxious about being in different places, social settings or even leaving the house. It may cause you to feel sick, have a shortness of breath and shake uncontrollable. Everyone handles it in different ways. Gone untreated, you may avoid putting yourself in these situations. Leading to more problems in the future. Similar to depression anxiety can be treated in the same way. You could also consider taking Beta-Blockers which help control the adrenalin in your body. All of which will be advised by your doctor. If you are struggling with anxiousness then don’t be afraid to ask for help.
High blood pressure
High blood pressure is one of those things that you just don’t know you have. Accept some of the symptoms can be obvious. You may experience hot flushes, fatigue and sluggishness. You may struggle to lose weight and have a quality of life. High blood pressure gone untreated can lead on to a stroke and a heart attack. If you are generally not feeling yourself, don’t try and self diagnose. Head to the doctors and get a blood pressure test. They are simple and quick and provide you with a treatment going forward.
I hope this has made you more aware of the symptoms you may be struggling with and inspired you to seek some help and advice.
